  • Overview

    Physiotherapy and rehabilitation that remediates impairments and provide mobility, take part in ADL’s and overall improve quality of life. Provide services to individuals and populations (community rehabilitation) to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the life span. Cardiopulmonary physiotherapy focuses on individuals who are suffering from cardio-pulmonary conditions. Physical therapy in cardiopulmonary - often In charge of managing life support for people in ICU and promote to live independently. Cardiac rehabilitation serves as a comprehensive, long-term progression involving medical evaluation, prescribed exercise, cardiac risk factor modification, education, and counseling. These programs are designed to limit the physiological and psychological effects of cardiac illness and reduce the risk of sudden death.

    • Effectiveness of high-intensity treadmill training versus low-intensity treadmill training to improve exercise tolerance in subjective with bronchiectasis.
    • Effectiveness of lung flute versus Pilates breathing exercises to improve symptoms and quality of life in subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

DEPARTMENT OF NEUROLOGICAL PHYSIOTHERAPY



  • Overview

    Sound knowledge of neurology adds so much to patient rehabilitation to maintain the highest standards in delivering patient care. There is a high demand for physiotherapists trained in neurology as there is enormous growth in the prevalence of stroke cases and other neurological assaults globally. Recent advances in neurologically injured patients meet the demands for functional recovery and healthy and standard social life. The department has got eminent teaching faculty who are well versed in teaching ug and pg students.

     Ongoing Research Projects

    • Effectiveness of restorative approach versus conventional approach on balance and gait in subject with traumatic brain injury.
    • Effectiveness of mime therapy versus proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on facial function in subjects with bell’s palsy.
    • Effectiveness of constrain-induced movement therapy versus bimanual training in children with unilateral cerebral palsy.
    • Effect of lesion location on motor and functional recovery in subjects undergoing post-stroke rehabilitation.

    Apart from the regular curriculum, Department has taken a keen interest in introducing the most updated teaching through audio-visual aids and overall personality building of the students by conducting regular seminars, group discussions, clinical training, etc. The undergraduates are given a hands-on training program along with the theory classes. The faculty and postgraduates undertake and participate in research projects in addition to their teaching work.

DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPEDIC PHYSIOTHERAPY



  • Overview

    Musculo-Skeletal ailments. It involves regaining appropriate health and function of structures surrounding the Joint regions and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy is an oldest branch of Physiotherapy and is oriented towards the treatment of normalising the Biomechanical alignment. Recent evidences suggest that Pre-habilitation of the patients is very important along with the Rehabilitation. A wide variety of techniques like Exercising, Manual therapy, Taping etc have gained importance recently and were used in Rehabilitation.

    • Effectiveness of craniosacral therapy with myofascial release versus conventional physiotherapy on pain and functional in subjects with non specific neck pain.
    • Effectiveness on snag mobilization and autogenic muscle energy technique on pain range of motion and function in subject with mechanical neck pain.
    • Effectiveness of Pilates and gong’s mobilization on pain, range of motion and function in text neck syndrome among young adults.
    • Effect of preventive physiotherapy care on work related
    • Musculoskeletal disorders among dental fraternity.

DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS

  • Overview

    A graduate degree in sports physical therapy provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain entry into the field of physical therapy. Students learn how to help athletes recuperate after sports trauma. A physical therapist who has specialized in sports rehabilitation trains and assists athletes in their recovery from a sports-related injury Sports physical therapists help rehabilitate athletes who have sustained physical injuries. They diagnose problems and evaluate patient progress throughout a treatment plan. Work can be physically demanding; physical therapists often stand for long periods and assist patients within the process of therapy.
